Mission of the Role

You will be responsible for leading and coordinating the accounting function across Spain and Portugal, ensuring transparent, integrated, and compliant financial practices aligned with national and international standards. This role is key to ensuring data accuracy, the integrity of financial reporting, and the continuous development of the accounting team.

You will work closely with the Finance Director and collaborate with the broader financial team to secure the best economic outcomes for the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure transparency and integrity in all accounting projects and transactions (ES GAAP, IAS/IFRS in Spain and Portugal).

  • Manage and integrate accounting processes to ensure accurate financial KPIs and timely reporting.

  • Support the Finance Director in preparing regular financial reports and strategic analyses.

  • Coordinate internal administrative processes and ensure effective alignment with HQ requirements.

  • Lead and oversee statutory and internal accounting audits, ensuring full compliance with timelines and standards.

  • Ensure proper data capture and accounting treatment in line with ES-GAAP and IFRS requirements.

  • Upskill and coach accounting team members, promoting professional development and autonomy.

  • Guarantee timely submission of reports to the Regional Headquarters (RHQ).

  • Take full ownership of the quality and environmental responsibilities tied to the role, contributing to the effectiveness of the management systems in accordance with ISO and legal standards.

Job requirements

What do you need to be successful?

🎓 Education & Knowledge

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Strong command of SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, BI tools, and MS Office.

  • Advanced level of English (spoken and written) is required.

💼 Professional Background

  • Experience in the medical or diagnostics industry is an advantage.

  • 4–5 years in auditing (preferably Big Four).

  • Deep knowledge of IAS/IFRS and ES-GAAP accounting standards.

  • 3–5 years in a similar role, managing accounting processes and teams.
