Environmental Management trainee

We are looking for an Environmental Management trainee to join our rapidly growing in vitro diagnostics company, a leader in the industry for the past 15 years. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience and learn at Sysmex. The selected candidate will be based in our Barcelona office and will provide support to our QA/RA department in the Iberia region.

This person will be responsible for a variety of tasks essential to the smooth operation of our office, including:

• Support the legal audit process for environmental legislation, by coordinating the needs of the external auditor and the different departments, ensuring adequate documentation is provided, and recording and assigning actions in digital platforms 
• Ensure all actions related to the environmental management system are correctly recorded in the digital platform and set up a system for periodic monitoring and reporting 
• Provide technical and practical help for the implementation of actions related to environmental emergencies, waste management and PPW legislation, including communication, signposting, and training 
• Provide support for the correct digital recording and reporting of packaging and packaging waste data, including quarterly and yearly official reports 
• Provide support for the correct digital recording and reporting of environmental performance data, including monthly reports to Scorp 
• Provide support for the simplification of Environmental Management system documentation and kpi 
• Implement improvements in the digital platforms, enhancing the user experience and allowing a better communication of the documents and process performance Related to Sysmex Portugal - ISO 14001 to be implemented within 2025 
• Support the legal audit process for environmental legislation, by coordinating the needs of the external auditor and the different departments, ensuring adequate documentation is provided, and recording and assigning actions in digital platforms 
• Provide technical and practical help to set up the Environmental Management System according to ISO 14001 for Sysmex Portugal, with the objective to obtain certification within 2025.

What you need to be successful:

• Environmental sciences degree student
• Good English and Spanish level
• Good knowledge about the requirements and implementation of ISO 14001, preferably in the distribution sector
• Systems-thinking
• Good communicator in writing and speaking
• Digitally minded
• Empathetic, team worker and collaborative
• Able to manage small projects autonomously
