Public Tenders and Legal & Compliance trainee

At Sysmex, we are a global leader in in-vitro diagnostics, committed to innovation, quality, and excellence in healthcare solutions. We are currently looking for a Public Tenders & Legal Compliance Trainee to join our Public Tenders and Legal & Compliance team in Madrid.

This internship is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in public procurement procedures, legal support, compliance, and data protection, within a multinational healthcare company.

Main Objective

Support the management of public tender processes and legal/compliance-related activities, ensuring that bidding procedures and legal documentation are handled in accordance with applicable laws, internal policies, and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Public Tenders

• Support in the preparation and management of public tenders in the Spanish healthcare sector.

• Learn and participate in the different phases of public procurement procedures and related documentation.

• Assist in the preparation of special procurement appeals and submissions.

• Research and analysis of case law from Spanish administrative procurement tribunals.

• Prepare reports and support monitoring of public procurement trends.

LegalTech Projects

• Support the monitoring and updating of internal tools for tender management.

• Contribute to reporting and process improvements.

Contract, drafting and negotiation support

• Review, draft, and support negotiation of commercial contracts with clients and suppliers.

• Update and maintain legal templates.

• Support in the design and implementation of a contract management tool.

• Provide support in corporate matters.

Compliance

• Support the implementation of compliance policies.

• Assist in regulatory analysis related to the healthcare industry.

• Support compliance risk identification and implementation of controls.

• Participate in compliance-related training initiatives.

Data Protection

• Support in reviewing data processing agreements.

• Coordinate follow-ups with the external Data Protection Officer (DPO).

• Update legal documentation and templates related to data protection.

What you need to be sucessful:

• Degree in Law and/or currently studying a Master of Laws (preferred).

• Strong interest in public procurement law, legal compliance, and the healthcare sector.

• High level of English (written and spoken) and native Spanish. Portuguese is a plus.

• Strong skills in MS Office.
